This page describes what Pagebreak(“we”) collects when you read our site or subscribe to our newsletter, what we do with it, and how to reach us with questions or requests.

What we collect

When you read articles:standard request data — IP address, browser type, page URL, referrer, country — via our analytics provider (Plausible). Plausible is privacy-respecting and doesn’t use cookies or fingerprinting; the data is aggregated and not linked to any identity.

When you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address and the source page that referred you. We use these to send the digest and to honor unsubscribe requests.

When you comment on an article: the name and comment text you submit are stored. Your IP address is also stored to help us moderate spam.

When ads are shown: we use Google AdSense, which uses cookies and similar identifiers to serve and measure ads. AdSense may collect data about your visit and use it across sites that show Google ads. You can opt out at google.com/settings/ads.

What we don’t collect

We don’t use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any cross-site tracking platform we operate ourselves. We don’t sell your data. We don’t share newsletter lists with third parties.

Email sending

Our newsletter is sent via Resend, an email infrastructure provider. Resend processes email addresses on our behalf solely to deliver newsletters and to handle bounces and unsubscribes. They don’t use the data for anything else.

Cookies

We don’t set first-party cookies for tracking. The only cookies you may encounter are:

  • A theme-preference value stored in localStorage if you toggle dark/light mode (browser-only; never sent to a server).
  • Cookies set by Google AdSense to serve and measure ads, when ads are present.

You can:

  • If you’re in California, you have rights under CCPA. Same email address.
